A series of duels at dusk between a swordsman and a group of armed bandits. Each screen features a bandit shooting a different arrangement of bullets and projectiles. The swordsman can jump and their slash can deflect bullets.
All the sprites have a very primitive form of bump mapping on them so that different edges will get highlighted depending on their relative position to the sun and any light sources (such as muzzle flashes). A fun little technical challenge for the PICO-8!
I enjoyed developing the game and loved working on the aesthetics. But I ended up abandoning the project when I realized I had no interest in making a game about swords, guns, and blood. It's just been done before.
